Qingdao, the most attractive coastal landscape in China, is surrounded by the sea on three sides with a pleasant climate.
Qingdao Agricultural University was founded in 1951, and now has four campuses, namely Chengyang, Pingdu, Laiyang and Blue Valley, and one Modern Agricultural Science and Technology Demonstration Park in Jiaozhou, which covers a total area of 5220 MU (about 860 acres).
QAU is also among the first group of provincial universities to admit international students in Shandong province.
The program aims to cultivate international undergraduate students to become the future qualified learners in the field of their majors. Through study and practice, the international undergraduate students can systematically understand the Chinese social culture; have a certain ability to communicate in Chinese. The graduated students should have good understandings of principles and basic knowledge of their majors. In addition, successful graduates will have good scientific literacy, strong innovation spirit and good practical ability.

Meanwhile, they should study and solve related theoretical and technical problems in this discipline creatively, and be competent for scientific research, education or technical management related to their majors.

After few weeks of Chinese study, international students can master simple Chinese words and phrases, understand traditional Chinese talents, and experience Chinese cultural customs.
This program aims to train expatriates with good Chinese listening, speaking, reading, writing and professional translation skills. Upon finishing the program’s study, foreign learners will be able to improve their Chinese language proficiency with understanding the overview of Chinese culture and social development as well as have strong intercultural communication skills. The program is divided into three stages just as elementary, intermediate and advanced levels according to international students’ Chinese language proficiency.
Through six months to one year of intensive language learning, learners are equipped with basic Chinese language and communicative skills needed for living in China and studying in universities, so as to get ready for the study of professional knowledge.
