Zunyi Medical University,founded in 1947, has three campuses: Xinpu Campus, Dalian Road Campus and Zhuhai Campus, with more than 26,000 full-time students, 29 teaching faculties, 5 directly affiliated hospitals and 6 non-directly affiliated hospitals.Over 70 years of development, ZMU has become a teaching and research oriented university, which covers undergraduate education, post education and joint training doctoral students.
ZMU has 33 undergraduate majors, 8 master's degree authorization points in primary disciplines and 59 master's degree authorization points in secondary disciplines. The majors are distributed in 6 disciplines, including medicine, science, engineering, education, management, and literature. There are 20 undergraduate majors in the medical discipline, including clinical medicine, dentistry, anesthesiology, preventive medicine, medical imaging, medical imaging technology, medical laboratory technology, pharmacy, pharmaceutical preparation, clinical pharmacy, nursing, midwifery, pediatrics, psychiatry, forensic medicine, oral medicine technology, and rehabilitation therapy.
ZMU has 4 national key (cultivation) disciplines and national key clinical specialties.The university was awarded 1 national-level teaching achievement award and 29 provincial-level teaching achievement awards. currently ,clinical medicine and pharmacology and toxicology are listed as top 1% of global ESI.
The university established the College of International Education in September 2015. So far, more than 400 international students from Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Mongolia, Russia, Thailand, Korea and other countries have been enrolled. "Practical Medical Chinese" was awarded as "the first provincial brand course for foreign students in Guizhou Province".From 2015 to 2019, the pass rate of Chinese language students taking HSK4 was 100%, and the pass rate of HSK5 was 98%.
