Students are encouraged to integrate their personal interests, educational backgrounds, and future career plans. After six months of independent academic exploration upon enrollment, students determine their research direction and collaborative team. They also choose their academic supervisors from any hub or thrust through mutual selection. The thrust of the academic supervisors determines the student's registered specialization. Throughout the whole program, the Red Bird MPhil Program remains student-centered through the teaching model guided by team projects. Students collaborate with academic supervisors from different hubs and thrusts, project supervisors, and industry supervisors, to accomplish interdisciplinary team projects and academic requirements.
