Nanjing Medical University(NMU) is a national "double first-class" university, one of the first batch of medical schools jointly built by the Ministry of Education, the National Health Commission and the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, a university built by the Ministry of Education's high-level public health school, and a peak plan A for Jiangsu's high-level university construction. Class construction colleges and universities. The school was founded in 1934 as Jiangsu Provincial College of Medical Administration. During the Anti-Japanese War, it was renamed National Jiangsu Medical College. In 1957, it moved from Zhenjiang to Nanjing and was renamed Nanjing Medical College. In 1962, it was listed as one of the first batch of six-year medical colleges in the country. In 1981, it was approved as one of the first batch of doctoral and master's degree granting units in the country. In 1993, it was renamed Nanjing Medical University.
NMU has Jiangning campus, Wutai campus and Changzhou campus (under preparation). NMU has more than 2,000 faculty and staff, currently has 7 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the Academy of Sciences (including workstations), 1 foreign academician of the National Academy of Medicine of the United States, 3 members of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and more than 100 national-level high-level talents. NMU has 19 colleges (including an independent secondary college), with 25 undergraduate majors, 3 undergraduate (master) and doctoral comprehensive training majors, and 3 "5+3" undergraduate and master integrated majors. The total number of students is nearly 20,000. NMU was selected as the 2.0 base of the Ministry of Education’s basic disciplines top student training plan. The construction sites of national first-class undergraduate majors account for nearly 80% of the total number of majors in the school. NMU has more than 30 national, provincial and ministerial key laboratories (Engineering Research center, innovation center). It has the first-class medical simulation education center in China and the Jiangsu Provincial Medical Animal Experiment Base, and has the Jiangsu Provincial Health Research Institute, the only provincial health policy think tank in the province.
