As one of the "High-quality Higher Vocational Colleges", Jiujiang Vocational and Technical College has done a good job of "Bringing In", serving "Going Abroad" and helping "Further Improvement" adhering to serve the strategy of the strong maritime nation, the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the industrial Province of Jiangxi. JVTC conducted cooperation with 40 institutions in 10 countries and regions including Germany, Australia, Canada, Russia, and Thailand in mutual recognition of credits, co-construction of courses, teacher training. As the third batch of "China-ASEAN" special cooperation projects in higher vocational colleges, and was twice awarded the "China-Thailand Vocational Education Cooperation Contribution Award" by the Thai Ministry of Education.
JVTC formed a coordinated developing system of 10 specialty groups including Intelligent Manufacturing, Shipbuilding Engineering, Internet of Things Application as the main feature, and other seven specialty groups as Architectural Engineering, Business Logistics, Finance, etc.. Among them, 2 major specialty groups of Shipbuilding Engineering Technology and Internet of Things Application have been approved as national high-level major groups.
"Morals in Mind, Skills in Hand", the college aims at cultivating students into all-round development talents with both political integrity and professional competence and explores to deepen the reform of the talent training model. It has trained a large number of outstanding alumni represented by "National Technical Experts" Jia Zhanjie, Zhou Kelong, Liao Dehua, and "China Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Chief Skills Expert" Huang Libo, etc., and delivered nearly 100,000 high-quality technical and skilled personnel, skilled craftsmen. Relying on the "Overseas Branch of Jiujiang Vocational and Technical College (Thailand)", the project adopts the joint training mode of "1-year at overseas branch + 1-year at JVTC + 1-year at Chinese-funded enterprise in Thailand". With outstanding backbone teachers selected from our college and the Thai branch. Students who have completed the teaching content specified in the teaching plan and passed the test can obtain the junior college diploma issued by the Chinese education administration department.

Relying on key specialty clusters of of ship engineering technology and Internet of Things application technology, the project content of "Chinese culture + professional skills + enterprise services" is optimized in consideration of the economic and social development status, language, culture and customs of the country where the students live, and the needs of international production capacity cooperation. In the combination of online and offline learning mode, students who complete the learning content stipulated in the project implementation plan and meet the completion conditions can obtain the completion certificate authorized by the college.
