Founded in 1958, Dalian Polytechnic University (DPU) has one of the longest histories in the academic area of Chinese light industry. DPU’s campus covers 1,282,000 square meters. It is home to 13,000 undergraduate students and 3,000 graduate students. As a multidisciplinary university, DPU offers courses and degrees in a range of subject areas including engineering, science, art, management, business, and the liberal arts.
DPU has attracted students representing over 60 countries such as France, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Russia, Mongolia, Morocco, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Tanzania and Thailand since 2002. Over 500 international students registers annually here. DPU welcomes all of you from all parts of the world!
To meet the needs in development of food industry in the 21st century, this major aims to cultivate high-quality engineering and technical personnel who has innovative spirit and engineering cognition, who possess practical ability of innovation and entrepreneurship, and who engages in design and development, research and inspection, and project management in food related fields.
To meet the needs of informatization, this program aims to cultivate advanced application-oriented talents who master professional computer knowledge, who have the ability to analyze, design and solve complex engineering problems in computer and related fields, and who are able to engage in computer science research and competent in design, development and application of computer software and hardware systems.
Under the impact of globalization, this program aims to cultivate application-oriented professionals who are equipped with global vision and solid international economics theory, and who are proficient in international trade businesses and competent in positions in multinational enterprises.
International students are able to possess knowledge of at least 5,000 words, to easily understand information in listening and speaking, to express ideas fluently in spoken and written form.
Students are able to demonstrate a command of at least 2,500 words, to read Chinese newspaper articles and journals, to follow the content of TV programs, and to perform a relatively integrated presentation.
