Strength in Discipline
ECUST is located in Shanghai, a key university of “Project 211”, “985 Advantage Discipline Innovation Platform”, a member of "the Double First-Class". ECUST possesses 17 schools, covers 11 disciplines such as science, engineering, economics, management, literature, art etc. According to ESI Database, 8 disciplines in ECUST rank top 1% in the world, namely Chemistry, Materials Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Biology and Biochemistry, Environmental Engineering etc., among of which Chemistry ranks top 0.3‰. ECUST graduates have been enjoying praise and reputation among employers and the society, with a ranking of 16th among 2700 universities in China in terms of QS University Graduates Employment Competitiveness.
The program has successfully passed the review of American ABET(Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) in 2014 and becomes the first university in China that has passed the accreditation.
The Program makes ECUST become the first university in China that has passed Sino-Russian Joint International Accreditation on the Specialty in Science.
The Program together with other 7 disciplines in ECUST rank top 1% in the world, according to the Essential Science Indicators Database (ESI).
The School of Business was accredited by AACSB (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) for 5 years in 2020 and by Chinese Advanced Management Education Accreditation in 2014, becoming one of the first seven universities in China to pass this accreditation; received initial accreditation from AMBA (Association of MBAs) in 2011, and unconditionally reaccredited with a maximum five-year validity period in 2012 and 2017 respectively.
School of Art Design and Media is currently a member of Cumulus(the International Association of Universities and Colleges of Art, Design and Media), and has won many international design awards in recent years, such as the Red Dot Award, IF Award and other international design awards, as well as leading the direction of product and brand innovation design.
